Daytime activities

by helen_1505

Hi,

Me and my boyfriend are going to stay in the ST Eulalia Beach Club for a week from 29th September.
Firstly, does anyone know what that accommodation is like? Also, I was wondering which is the best water park and where are the nicest beaches?

Thanks xx

Sorry can't help with the accommodation but there is a very nice beach (called Sta Eulalia Beach!) about 10 minutes walk away. It's also the nearest.

Waterparks - here are some links so you can take a look:

Hi!

I don´t know the hotel where you are going to stay but you have nice beaches there. The nearest one has the same hotel's name, "Santa Eulalia", and in those dates there are less people there and you can have a quiet time. If you like to explore you have others, not far away, that ypou can go by walk.

Have a nice week.

Travel Tips for Albufeira

Noteworthy Buildings

by Geoff_Wright

The Old Town has an array of noteworthy buildings, old churches, museums and the like. Nothing is much older than mid 18th Century due to the devastating earthquake of 1755, which collapsed most buildings in the town.

Due to the close proximity of other buildings, it is difficult to get clear pictures of some buildings, and the modern automobile is also a curse, LOL! However, the first Church we came upon was Sant'Ana Church,, located in the Largo Jacinto d'Ayet square.

Built in the 18th Century, it replaces the earlier chapel of Sant.Ana which was destroyed in 1755.

Tradicional Portuguese

by intertraveler about Churrasqueira Beira

this restaurand is very popular with the portugese people.
There is the standard menu and the specials which I had. When you go for a meal most restaurants bring you bread butter olives which they charge about 1.5 eur each.
This restaurant brought bread cheese and ham and charged 10 eur for two people so be aware.
The prices were resonable and if you want to try the local food this is the restaurant to go to. I had suckling pig with rice in sauce with salad.

"Old beats the new"

Albufeira is probably the Southwesternmost resort on mainland Europe. Mild a lot of the time between Winter and Spring when the rest of Iberia chills, it is a definite banker for beach weather in the Summer. Take to the water, though, and you are dealt a chilly reminder that you are in the Atlantic ocean now and not the Med !!
The old town although still full of tourists and tourist haunts retains its Portugese identity while the strip could be interchangeable with anywhere in Tenerife or Menorca or any one of a myriad overbuilt and overpriced purpose-expanded resorts.
The Algarve shopping centre shows a selection of the latest films in its cinema ; subtitled and in their original English language, complete with anachronistic intermission to fetch some ice cream
