does any one know the name of any private apartments or villas in the cerro malpique area of albuferia near those dreaded steps thanks
Typical windmill. A short, round, white building with four long sticks perpendicular to a shaft.
Between the ends of the sticks are robes where the sails are rolled when the mill isn’t turning.
At the robes are pottery pots attached, the wind is blowing in the pots that gives a sound, so when the miller is working at the fiend and don’t hear the mill he knows that something is wrong.
You’ll recognise the main church, or parish church, by its tall bell tower. It’s however a simple church with a single nave: it was opened in 1800 on the place where the old parish church once stood before being destroyed by the 1755 earthquake. The church is built in neo-classical style - and its most interesting sight in the interior is a painting by the local artist Samora Barros of Albufeira. This painting decorates the church’s high altar. It’s in Rua da Igreja Nova
