Street tiles
Tiles must be something very typical from the Mediterranean areas, but looking at this ones, I could feel I was in Andalucia (ok instead of Calle you can see Rua, but in Galicia is similar lol)

Hi,
Have been quoted the return taxi price of 60 euros from Faro airport to Albufeira for two people. Would that be reasonable? Thanks. Phil
Hi there.
That price looks a little bit expensive. The normal rate for that trip is around 35.00 euros.
Hope this helps
Best Regards

Hi,
Is the 35 euro return ? Thanks for the replies.
Check with "Google" for Airport Transfers. They are (or used to be) about half the Taxy fares, but one needs to make arrangements for pick-up or drop-off in advance.
I always use them when I come here (to Portimao) and some have a rate that includes more than one person for the same price.
Another option is to rent a car one way (or for longer) as car rental is not too expensive here.
Good luck!
I live in Albufeira and would expect to pay €30 for a one way pre-booked transfer and about €40 - €50 for taxi off the rank at the airport depending on time of day, number of passengers etc.
The €30 or so will also vary according to number of passengers eg a group of say 6 would need a larger vehicle.
Going by bus is of course a lot less expensive but only for the brave. There's only about one bus an hour from the airport into town (€1.55) then the bus from Faro to Albufeira costs €3.95 one or two an hour on weekdays services but few and far between at weekends. Journey takes between 45 and 90 minutes depending on which bus. Then of course you have to get from Albufeira's bus station to where you are staying unless you are dead lucky that the bus stops outside. Might be an another taxi so bu bus reckon on anything from €5 to €12 per head.
dont know the prices but albuferia.com has the answer to ALL
your questions in albuferia area
I have booked with algarvetransfersdirect.com which I saw recommended on, I think, Trip Advisor, and that cost 60 euros return for 3 people to Albufeira. It was the cheapest I could find. They have sent me a confirmation e-mail.
No No No No No.... Book it when your there tou will get a price for around 25- 30 euros.... travel agency at top of the strip next door to erins isle is much cheaper than others around. 20 euros is about average to FARO airport, even if you flag a taxi price to airport will only b around 45 euro.

The name Albufeira is of Arabic origin: "Al-buhera" means in fact "the Sea Castle". In town there was once, therefore, a castle - and it’s possible that the entire town was walled. Very little of it remains… a small part of the wall. It’s located at the Rua Joaquim Pedro Samora. Further away - and continuing along the same road - you’ll find 2 plaques made of tiles, marking the place where two of the walled-town’s doors were located.
When i was in Alvbufeira during the fall of 2010, vt member andraf also happend to be in the area on holiday with her husband, so we met up at the festa dos pescadores and had a really nice evening of eating different types of fish while drinking a few beers.
Really nice to meet some romanian vt friends in the sunny Algarve :O).
