hi the centre of Albufeira or centro in Portuguese is in the lower part of the town and is so tiny that's impossible not to find it one minute walking from the main square three minutes walking from the main beach just ask ask anyone there

The Centro bus stop is in Avenida da Liberdade about 4 minutes walk from the square - this is the broad road, now partly pedestrianised, that leads away from the centre of town and the square past the shops and tall buildings. Not all the long-distance buses go there, so when booking your ticket at the Bus Shop (which is next to the bus stops) make sure the one you want does actually go there.

You need to be book your tickets in advance for the Lisbon buses so visit the Bus Shop a day or two before you intend to go.

Travel Tips for Albufeira

Vida Nova

by Carmela71

On our first night as we arrived late we decided to stay at the restaurant close to the hotel, that was very enjoyable.

When they came with the wine list, I was a little lost as I do not know much about Portugal wines, so we decided to try the one of Albufeira.

For our surprise was a Sir Cliff Richard wine bottle from his farm house over there. When he bought the house, he read that before they had a vineyard so he decided to do it himself again.

I have to say the wine was very nice, expensive but very nice. If you have a fan of Cliff in the family you can always take back with you a bottle as souvenir ;-)

Alburfiera Beach

Fifteen minutes walk from the center is the main beach.Quite well hidden from the main rd so look out for signs that point to a path and small road that takes you to the beach. There is a large car park at the end of the small road and plenty of wooden boards to walk on to avoid getting burnt feet on the hot sand. The water can be quite cold with it being the Atlantic so brace yourself when taking a dip.Sunloungers and umbrellas can be hired for a few Euros and just behind the sand dunes is a nice bar/restaurant with plenty of room to sit inside or out.
Cant remember the name of the restaurant but we did eat here once and i remember the food was very nice and the service was good with a varied menu and reasonable prices.

"Albufeira is a great tourist place in Algarve"

Albufeira it isn't a monumental city but it has is own beauty.
Almost all the building are new (from last 20 years) but the centre, the old town have lots of years.
Usually the Hotels aren’t on centre but it is very easy to go in. It does worth. I love the old town lots of movement, shops, people, and music, day and night.
From Albufeira you can tour all Algarve, on bus, train or organize tour, there are plenty to do and even if you don’t like to stay on beach you won’t get bore.
For people how really like to be at the sun and water that is the place Albufeira Beach and near beaches are great.
There are a lots of water parks, and water sports.

"A water park"

This one of the water parks near Albufeira, the picture shows the wave pool it is a big water park, it is great.

"Having Dinner on a great view"

This i really like... i'm not to fan of beach but i love being on a restaurant by the beach
