Going to the Algarve
by Dancar
Would like to fly into and stay close to Faro from US. Where are the best beaches? Any recommendations on apartments that are within walking distance of the beach and town? Is Faro a good choice? I have heard that the further east on goes the better? From there we hope to go to Spain - Seville, Gibraltar, and perhaps ferry over to Ceuta, Africa from Algeciras. Any insight is appreciated. I am hearing also that renting a car is a good option for 4 people.

Two weeks ago we came back from the Algarve. We had a great time there. We stayed at RIU Falesia Mar and everything was perfect there for us. Very good apartments!

You could go there. It's about 30 minutes by car from Faro airport. To rent a car is a great idea because it's not expensive and you can visit several beaches. Have a look on my (or others) VT Algarve pages and you get some tips what and where to do. If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask me. Regards, Michael
