A great location Good apartments,some reservations
The Alvormar Apartments are close to the old town of Alvor that still retains some authenticity.The long sandy beach is about a 13 minute casual walk away. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds and well equipped. It could do with a makeover and some of the fixtures and fittings are tired and could do with replacing although there was nothing one could not live with. a nice bathroom. Cleaning is undertaken every day except Sundays and linen was replaced twice weekly. The reception staff are terrific helpful and friendly. The swimming pool which is very small and surrounding area is a tad naff. Many of the sun umbrellas are broken and need replacing. a poolside snack bar and also a small bar at the front of the block open in the evenings. Best to request a room not overlooking the road as these are subject to some traffic and street noise.

A pleasant suprise
The Alvormar Apartments are in a central location only 5 minute walk from the town centre. The beach is a bit further 10 minutes away. In Alvor you have to choose between a town or beach location you cannot have both. The apartments are spacious well kept and clean. Fridge, microwave, kettle,air conditioning and telephone. All the expected utensils included. The reception staff are always happy to help. There is a poolside snack which is very nice but a shame about the swimming pool which is small and fitted into a compact area. sunbeds are like gold dust. Overall. Highly recommended.

Casa de Alvor Location
Hi, can anyone tell me the location of Casa de Alvor apartments? Usually stay in the Alvormar so know most of the landmark bars/restaurants etc. So can anyone give a helping hand of pointing out where/what we will be near.

It's in the Rossio de Sao Pedro, which is a little way to the north of the big roundabout where all the buses stop and where the taxi rank is located.
If you head off up the hill from the roundabout as if you were going towards the aerodrome and Penina, past the little garden and go first left it's somewhere there.
The road shows up on the maps but exactly which bit of the road it's on I'm sorry I don't know.

Casa de Alvor is near the new parish council.
If you are driving into Alvor coming from the motor way after passing the camping on the left, you will find a new roundabout, after the roundabout go on the first left.

I thought we knew alvor well, but this block of apartments are being difficult for us to locate - Hope the taxi driver will know where it is. We usually stay at the alvormar is it near there? I know the post office and taxi ramp. The harbor where the modern statue is, the lifeboat house. We know most of the restaurants by name and the municiple market and the 2 chapels and large church - is the Casa de Alvor anywhere near any of these???

The apartments are near the cimetry at the north part of Alvor, not on the river side or near the Alvormar Apartments.
It's very easy to find it, when you arrive in Alvor passing the camping you will find a new roundabout, just after the roundabout turn left and 2nd left, you will find the parish council and oposite is casa de Alvor, color = terracota.
