It had no balcony but good air conditioning which was enough and a sofa and coffee table. We felt like we were at home!
Hotel Garbe is right by the sea so it took us 5 mins to walk to the beach which was really convenient.
We could pop back to the hotel if we forgot something or leave the beach at siesta time and go off for lunch very easily.
You can get a safe by giving a 7 euro deposit.
There is a games area with 2 pool tables, plenty of space at breakfast time with continental breakfast and cooked breakfasts!
We have never been to a hotel with such close proximity to the beach so we didn't have to walk for ages to get to the beach.
In the mornings you have to be up early to get a lounger by the pools or sundecks, about 8am, as many people reserve the loungers with their towels.
We were fine as we always went to the beach and there are plenty of loungers there. Do not use the ones with reserved signs, but you can reserve a sun lounger yourself for the next day by paying the full price the day before. It is 14 euros and 11 euros after 4pm.
The beach is excellent and if you walk west, to the left of the hotel there are some caves and a secret beach to explore.
The resort is full of Portuguese families in August which makes it a very friendly and authentic experience.
The sea is quite cold so you have to be brave and throw yourself in it to get warm.
Hotel Garbe also has an excellent Indian Restaurant called The Raj which we enjoyed so much we went twice.
You can book at the reception, which helps you avoid waiting for a table later on.
Its a great hotel for young couples, families and older people who want a quiet hotel.
The view from the breakfast terrace is amazing! Its so nice to have breakfast right by the sea!
