Ferragudo old bridge
This winter, as for the last eight,we will be back in Ferragudo and I would like to know if the old brige to Portimao has been reopen. Thank you
Re: Ferragudo old bridge
The bridge closed to cars and heavy vehicles in November 2007 for repairs to it's pillars. It’s due to re-open in mid 2009.
You can still cross the bridge on foot or bike or take the train from Parchal to Portimão’s station (less than 3 mins). You can then catch the Violet-colour hopper-bus which will take you to the centre of Portimão (Alameda and Largo do Dique) in next to no time!
There is talk of a potential river crossing via ferryboat...
