Re: little tourist train in Lagos

There is certainly one. It starts its journey just across from the main part of town on the other side of the footbridge that takes you to the Marina. I think it costs €3 or €3,50.

There's a map here

There are or were other stops around town, but there have been a considerable amount of roadworks and road closures during the summer and I don't remember where the stops were. Also I am not sure it is a year round operation any more.

Nighttime sightseeing 7

Gil Eanes statue. He was born in Lagos and was one of the Portuguese navigators, valet of Infant D. Enrique, who passed for the first time beyond the Bojador Cape, removing the superstitious terror that this promontory inhaled and thus initiating the time of the great Discoveries (1434).

Visit Prince Henry the Navigator's Fortress

by eleanorbueza

From Lagos, drive over and visit Prince Henry the Navigator's Fortress at the Ponta de Sagres. The fortress itself is not that spectacular, but the views of the powerful ocean are breathtaking. Bring your fishing rod along if you dare to fish off the dizzying cliffs.

There's nothing between you and the African continent except the deep blue sea!
