Hey,
Now that I know where's hot to surf I am looking to see where is good to stay?
The plan is to appease the drinkers amongst us and do two nights on the beer in Albuferia then head down to Lagos for about 5 days mainly for the Surf in nearby Sangres.
Is it possible to pick up cheap and cheerful accommodation in Lagos or should this be booked in advance?
Ideally we would be looking for a cheap B+B for about €30 per man per night in late August.
Also is there a bus to the beaches in Sangres or is it better to rent a car? I am guessing you can rent boards on the beach.

Transport-wise I advise a car.
The best surfing beaches are north of Sagres and there is no bus services to the area.
As regards accomodation depends when you are coming.
Don't count on renting boards on the beach.

In Lagos you also have a very nice little beach right by the center of town where you can walk down in a couple of minutes and it´s a fine little place with nice sand and a nice vibe and a nice place to go if you can live without the party at Meia Praia.
We called here for lunch as it's bright yellow and green tables and chairs catch your eye and we wanted to go somewhere we had not been before.
The menu looks quite good and we chose off the Lunch menu, i chose Fresh Grilled Sausages and my mum had Lamb Chops.
The food arrived quickly but i was disapointed that the Fresh Grilled Sausages were in fact 2 Grilled Frankfurters certainly not what i would call Fresh Sausages. They came with an egg chips and salad. My mums lamb chops looked nice and i wish i had enquired as to their interpratation of Fresh Grille Sausages before ordering as i would have had something else.
Take a visit to "Luz" you wont be disappointed,it is a lovely setting with a very relaxed atmosphere,Plenty of things to see and do with a lovely beach,
The cliffs in the background are famous for changing color as the sun sets.
There are plenty of places to eat and relax and watch the world go by.
If you take your Europe Tom Tom with you,all you need to put in is: Luz. I originally put in Praia da Luz and it didn't recognise it,however Luz was fine.

Lagos is definitely a tourist destination but I still found it to be rather appealing. Due to its tourist feel, it offers an abundance of dining, shopping and activities. A lot of the more historical buildings were destroyed in the 1755 earthquake. Still it remains a lovely destination with the main avenue (Av. dos Descombrimentos) lined with imported tropical canary palms.
