Blue Skies
by kevin36
The warm weather, it was very hot at times but generally it was about 35 degrees when we were there.I will always remember the constant blue skies every day ,we only had two days that were slightly cloudy, and of course that nice Atlantic breeze.
oh how I wish I was there now. The people ,were very good to us and patient.
Considering we speak no Portuguese at all apart from the odd phrase. they just know you are English and before you get a chance to speak, they are speaking English to you.
Nothing was too much trouble and they were never rushed, such a relaxing time to be had by all ,in Lagos.
If you are looking for a place with good restaurants good weather, laid back beaches then this is for you.
Best on the beach ...
by Westbrook about Linda. The Beach Bar
Once, Linda's was a bona fide beach shack. EU regulations forced them to pull down the original and rebuild in wood to tight specifications from the ground up.
Never visited the old one, but it had a great reputation. What they have now, however, is superb. Smart looking and feeling. Relaxed atmosphere with great and attentive service.
They deserve to build a reputation just as good as the original.
They don't open beyond 8pm except on Fridays for a BBQ .

W8 40.008' I had the Thai Chicken. It was a cooler day and I needed something warming. It was that and more.
Visiting the old city streets and shops in Lagos
by dlytle
Access to the old town is easy through entrances in the wall. The main shopping and tourist area is closed to vehicles, so you can browse and take in the sights at your leisure. Once inside, you'll find a market and neat, well-supplied shops specializing in silver filigree, copper, leather, a good selection of wines, great breads and delicious pastries. There is also a wide variety of restaurants for all tastes. The great earthquake destroyed or damaged many of the historic buildings, but left unscathed one that you absolutely should not miss. It's one of Portugal's national treasures, the military chapel of Santo Antonio.
WELCOME TO MY LAGOS PORTUGAL PAGE!

"Oh it's so Sunny!"
Well I've only been to Lagos a few times but I have to admit its the ONLY place I've been back to more than once!
I've done Spain thing and I didn't really enjoy it much due to the 'commerciality' of the place, but when my wife's sister and husband moved to Lagos we were lucky enough to get a free place to stay and see the sights!
From day one I was impressed. Lagos is beautiful place and the weather has always been excellent. The town has that old style culture with the bonus of modern shops and a good night life.
The people in Portugal are brilliant! So laid back and easy going it makes staying there a real joy.
Since the introduction of the new road from Faro getting to Lagos takes about 30 minutes and that's when the beer starts flowing!
"WANT TO SEE INSIDE THE APARTMENT?"
If you copy and paste this link into your browser you will be able to see a 'streaming video' of the inside of an apartment my Brother In Law's selling.
He already has a fantastic house (lucky bugger) and he doesn't want to rent it out anymore (guess too many family members wanting freebies! lol)
For best results play the clip through INTERNET EXPLORER. Any problems just e-mail and I can send you a video mail.
