Best Sunset View at Lagos!

hi all,
this question i will ask might sound a bit funny but somehow i stil need an opinion from all of you out there. Ok i will be going to Lagos during this coming spring and will be planning to search an apartment for rental but my intention is to get an accomodation with a balcony right facing to the shores and to the sunset beyond without any other distraction infront of the balcony of the apartment!! It may sound really demanding but since my interest is in photograpy and love taking sunrise or sunset photos i really need it to get the best angel even from my own sleeping place........thanks in advance

I have also been to Lagos in Algarve ! And the one in Nigeria ! For the Lagos in Portugal you have a small town that is basically facing south east wards and I don't think you can just expect to sit on a balcony and expect to watch the sun disappear over the horizon. I may be wrong but perhaps someone can prove me wrong ! maybe for the best sunsets you have to look along the western coast of Portugal which is very long.

Glad I read the previous responses before jumping into a lenghty discussion on Lagos Nigeria. I could comment of Lagos in the Algarve, but do not have any information that you need. Sorry.......enjoy your stay in Portugal. It is a favorite.

Hello,
First of all, I think your "photo-fetiche" with sunrises and sunsets is perfectly justified. They are also my favourite moments of the day. Besides, it's the little details that define us... ;)
As for Lagos (Portugal), it faces South. Well, a little S-SE to be honest. However, there are plenty of photo-opportunities. There are lots of cliffs near the ocean if you drive west, and secluded small beaches.
Sagres, being the most western point of the zone seems to me a good "candidate" for a susnset photo. (Mind the wind out there).
Once in Lagos, speak to some locals and ask for suggestions for some nice spots on the west coast of Algarve (north of Sagres, near the coast line).

Excellent Selection of Fresh Fish!

They did have a freezer case with whole fish on ice as the business card claims 'Excelente seleccao de Peixe Fresco. There was more of a local establishment with a very casual atmosphere. Football and news was on the TV in the background. Nice half bottles of wine and good simple food. I actually really loved the chicken piri piri! It was mainly seafood restaurant and I rarely order chicken, but it seemed very appealing. It turned out to be very well seasoned. I also shared some nice garlic calamari. Warning about the calamari is that they come whole and you get a HUGE plate of the little suckers!
Meia praia.

Meia praia is the long wide beach that stretches east from Lagos.
This is very much the beach of the young crowd, especially the part of it that is close to town.
There you have party party beach bars, beach vollay and a hip hippie crowd hanging out.
