How to get from Lagos to Morocco

by Francinedavies

I'm trying to find out what is the best way to get from Lagos to Morocco and also if it can be done in a day or not. If anyone has done this trip before or is doing it in the near future and has some advice I would be very appreciative of it.

you will need to go to spain to catch a ferry to morocco.
algeciras has the most connections to morocco, but you can also go from gibraltar or tarifa.

algeciras is indeed the best place to take the ferry to morocco.

Do you know if it is easy to get from Lagos to Algeciras? I noticed that you can get from lagos to Seville but haven't been able to find anything that takes you directly to Algeciras.

Thanks
Francine

I did the trip from Faro to Seville but not onward to Algeciras. Sevilla is a big city as a hub to the southern Spain, whilst Lago is a small city with direct buses to Sevilla. It will involve a change of buses.

i would say take the bus to the border and get off there and get a bus to algeciras.
it should be quite easy.

LAGOS I

Aceitar o confuso o disforme a ocultação

I
Lagos onde reenventei o mundo num verão ido
Lagos onde encontrei
Uma nova forma do visível sem memória
Clara como a cal concreta como a cal
Lagos onde aprendi a viver rente
Ao instante mais nítido e recente

Lagos que digo como passado agora
Como verão ido absurdamente ausente
Quase estranho a mim e nunca tido

II

IV
Ou poderemos Abril ter perdido
O dia inicial inteiro e limpo

In summer eat in the open air

by acilina

In this picture you may see one of many places where you may take your meal in the open air. But when I leave the Meia Praia beach I usualy lunch at a small restaurant just in the corner next to the fishmarina, just in front os the railway stop. The grilled fish is splendid fresh. Grilled sardines

The castle.

by cachaseiro

Lagos has a small castle sitting by the river, but even if it´s small it´s quite interesting.
It´s very nicely restored and turned in to a small museum that you can visit for a couple of euros.
There are also some very nice seaviews from the top of the castle.
It´s located very close to the center of town and easy to walk to.

LAgos is a blackhooooole....you go there expecting to stay a couple of days and you end up staying for weeks, and are tempted to stay for months....lagos is amazing... it is touristy, but in a different nature than the usual idea of touristy. the tourists are young backpackers that love to travel and surf. its not like the tourists you see in florence, loading and unloading from buses...they are just looking to relax on hte beach during the day and party til the wee hours at night. lagos is pretty small town, that is littered with sunworshippers and backpackers, i felt like i was at some international convention when i visited....except for the fact that there is not much more than the beach, bars, and good restaurants...fine by me. dont get me wrong there is lots of portugese culture here, but if you are coming for a historical/cultural experience you wont find much in lagos. here the cliffs drop off into the ocean and turn into intricate grottos and underwater caves, perfect for swimming, kayaking through. there are also good places to go cliff diving here....

i loved lagos, we definately took extra time here, we fell head over heels for the beautiful beach and charming town, not to mention the beautiful people as well.... love the portuguese ! it seems like in this town everyone knows everyone else and its nice to stay for awhile and get accustomed to all the locals. to me lagos is a jem and the san sebastian of portugal ....
