Sandy Beaches
by TinKan
Along the coast you will find many beautiful beaches filled with white sand and gentle waves. Many of the beaches here on the southern coast of Portugal are clean and empty with the exception of places like Pria de Roca and some of the better known resort towns.
We like Lagos as there are fewer people there.
Swordfish Steak

Again another place with a nice ambiance and friendly staff with good service Lagos has so many, and next door they have a beer bar.
Watched a couple of football matches there during the worldcup on their big flat screen TV.
The waiters assured me that if there was something not on the menu that i fancied they would make it?. Swordfish steak with the trimmings see the photo, and they do good pork chops.
it was perfect, although not my top rated restaurant, that was restr reis.
However don't let that put you off give it a try we were not disappointed.
This is still a very good restaurant.
Governors Castle

Located overlooking the square where you'll find the statue of Henry the Navigator and the slave market, this fortress was built by the Arabs. The Algarve's military government was established here in the 14th century following the Christian Reconquest of the town in the 13th century.
Ponta da Piedade

If I had to elect the best location in Algarve it would be – Lagos. The town is nice, but not particularly interesting. But the beaches and the entire coast are wonderful. Of course there’s a strong competition of Carvoeiro (but there the town is not much more than touristic construction. Of course there’s Sagres, but there the water is colder and the sea, sometimes… Of course there’s Silves and his historic personality, but it is away from the sea, and Algarve is mostly sea. No! For me... Lagos. But you’re allowed to think differently.
