3* Hotel, centrally located.
The Hotel Globo is located in the centre of Portimao and can be seen from most parts of the city, due to its size and the striking yellow trim around its perimeter.
It can be seen on the left of this photograph.
The hotel has 80 bedrooms and 4 suites, which are basic but clean. Facilities include en-suite bathroom, satellite TV and a telephone.
The dining room is on the sixth floor of the hotel and provides stunning views of the riverside (the main picture on my Portimao introduction page is taken from my breakfast table).
The staff are friendly and the reception area contains an abundance of leaflets and fliers providing information about the attractions of Portimao and the rest of the Algarve.
Unique Quality: The dining room provides probably the best view of the town and the riverside that you will find in the whole of Portimao!

My niece likes to spend a few days up to a week somewhere near or on a beach in the Algarve at the end of this month (Sept.)
She does not need luxury, but a clean ANDsafe place is a must. Any info re: rates or locations, preferable close to Portimao or surrounding would be appreciated.

Hi
I stayed at the Hotel Globo in Portimao during the summer.
The rooms are fairly basic, but the price is reasonable (<£30 per night in the high season) and the location is good (right in the centre of Portimao). Breakfast is also included in the price and is served on the top floor of the hotel, with a great view over Portimao.
