Tavira's best Pension w/breakfast
It was a choice between a cheap hotel or Casa Vale Del Rei. Admittedly, I would have saved money in a hotel but I would have regretted it as 1-day, I went to play tennis at a nearby hotel and it really was delapadated.
The aesthetics of Casa Vale del Rei are only matched by few places I have stayed around the world. The scenary for breakfast was a mass of Orange Groves next to a golf course. I sat down on a lovely terrace sipping on fresh, (yes fresh) Orange Juice and a choice of eggs with yogurts, breads, pastries & cereals.
Guestes are permitted to keep food/drinks in a fridge which was cost effective for us & they owners put-in a spare bed for my son in the room for no extra cost! There is a BBQ area & also a lounge area with a TV and many DVD's & books/puxxles for the kids if they weren't swimming in the lovely pool.
You get there by travelling up a dirt road and the surroundings are as lovely as the rooms. Fantastic hospitality received from the owners & useful info. about where to dine out or sight-see. Golf courses, beaches and towns/villages within close proximity made this trip the most relaxing and memorable trip ever.
