Tavira
by Carmela71 about Hotel Porta Nova (4 stars)
A new and modern hotel but the main reason we choose was the excellent price we got from Rumbo (www.rumbo.es) it was 25 euros the double room per day with breakfast buffet included!
Very modern decoration with hot and cold air conditioning rooms (ok the hot did work but the room was still freezing at night!!!), two outside pools and one inside at the health center (maybe the next time we try them!).
The panoramic bar at the top of the hotel is very famous, but it is a pity you can not have dinners there, it would be very romantic (but food is not very good anyway at the hotel, so maybe a drink is enough!)
views of the whole town

There aren't loads of bars in Tavira, not that we found anyway as its not that type of place but if you want to chill out and admire the most amazing views of the town you should for a drink at the hotel porta nova bar-its on the rooftop and the hotel is already in an elevated position so you can see right out to the sea. Its fairly pricey as to be expected for a hotel bar but no dearer than back in england. We were staying here but am sure its open to non-residents as we saw people in there who weren't guests. Just be careful as it can be a bit breezy on a night which is usually welcome but maybe take a cardi if you feel the cold

It is a modern hotel, very well situated right in the city center of Tavira, confortable but not luxurious. Friendly staff.
