Decent Hotel by the River

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 2, 2014

This pleasant place has an excellent location right along the river. We booked a "family room" online for EUR 65 per night; we ended up getting two adjoining double rooms that gave us plenty of space as well as two private bathrooms. While the rooms were a bit dark and musty (the closets were so musty we couldn't even use them) they did feature air conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served in the restaurant dining room - good overall, except they kept the orange juice cool with ice cubes in the juice itself, and the "freshly brewed coffee" tasted suspiciously like Nescafe. While we got a "quiet" room in the back, we found the back street to the hotel was anything but, with lively conversations and even children playing well past midnight.

Unique Quality: - Excellent location along the river
- Friendly staff
- Some stairs to navigate
- Complimentary Wi-Fi

Directions: Along the south bank of Rio Gilão, a short distance from the Ilha de Tavira ferry dock.
