Citânia de Briteiros
by solopes
Maybe I should post this Tip under Briteiros, But this village has nothing else remarkable, and the "Citânia" happens to be outside it. So, I think it may be included in Braga (or Guimarãres), as something a little more distant, but easy to include in the mandatory trip to Bom Jesus and Sameiro.
Citânia de Briteiros is an archaeological site from the iron age, with celtic and roman addings. Two original houses were rebuilt.
Signposted in the ways to the sanctuaries.
The breathtaking New Stadium!
by koolricky
It's just immense. Build on a quorry, this stadium has only two stands. One is sitting on the quorry and the other is (prepare yourself) suspensed by the cover which is all made of iron wires nd concrete. Yep, it's a civil engineering extravaganza that was made to host the EURO2004 games. Some people like it some people don't - fair enough. But nobody indiferent. And that's what makes this stadium the most original in the world. By far.
The Portugese ROME

I must admit that Braga was not one of my favourite places during my visit to Portugal but I must go back and give it some more time.
It is a compact historical town with some lovely buildings and also some lovely places around it like BOM JESUS.
Churches, grand houses and pretty gardens give it the charm and interest to make me want to go back and explore more.
