I was in Braga on Charcoal Thursday, feeling the importance of the day (although the Holy Week for me, an orthodox christian, was one week later), which was mirrored at the peaceful faces of the locals...
That Week is characteristic of a profound historic religiosity in the city.
This picture was taken inside the Cathedral, where you can visit the "Sacred Art Museum", with a collection of precious works of art from the 16th to the 18th cent.

Castle

More than 90% of the castles, stand in a high hill, easy th see from distance. That was not the case of Braga, where the castle almost disappeared engulfed by construction. The main tower is all that lasts, and to find it you may search Castelo street, in the centre of town.
