Foreign food!

by Mykke about Charmer's

The restaurant is in the Hotel Lago Azul in Vilamoura. It is connected to the bar overlooking the rather nice pool.
Don't ask me why I went for an Indian meal in Portugal, I just felt like it!
The restaurant itself was clean and tidy but rather bland in appearance in "ambience".
The food was excellent! Chicken Tikka Masala. An odd orange colour but very nice!

Travel Tips for Braga

View over Braga from Falperra Mount

by ncfg

From the Falperra Mount you will have another terrific view over the town of Braga.
But there you will enjoy as well the fresh air, far from the town pollution and a beautiful forest to explore. Enjoy it!

Bom Jesus - funicular

by micas_pt

For all those who can't climb the stairs, or are just lazy, there is a funicular that goes up and down along the stairs.

This funicular is moved by water and was built in 1882. This is an important piece for portuguese transportation history.

The slope is very accentuated - about 31% inclination. They say the funicular takes about 3 minutes to go up (or down) - about 285 metre journey. There are 2 units - one each way and they always move at the same time. As one begins journey down, the other starts coming up.

Bracara Augusta

by ncfg

Braga or "Bracara Agusta" is a beautiful town on the north of Portugal; it is the capital of the Minho region. The Romans dedicated it to their Emperor and called it Bracara Augusta, making it their Galician head-quarters in 216 BC.

It is a town with lots of history and the youngest town in Portugal, where lives more young people, so you will find a great nightlife there ;-)

And if you are like me (crazy about football) you have the team Braga that is playing on the first league.

You will find lots of churches and on the hill Bom Jesus sanctuary and Sameiro Sanctuary.

Actually it's said that " while Porto town works, Coimbra town study Braga prays".
Don’t miss !
