5km east of Braga is this baroque stairway and pilgrim church. It is easily reached by public transport.
It is one of Portugal’s best known images and stands in the woods high above the city. It is a glorious ornamental stairway of granite and white plaster.
It has no reason to be here. No miracles, or visions and yet on the day we visited it seemed like there had been!!
Braga is usually known as "the portuguese Rome" due to the great number of churches, but not all the interesting sights are religious monuments.
This house is a stunning baroque building whith the façade covered by azulejos and a spectacular window above the main entry.
The City is in the North east region of Portugal. Its having a lots of churches and monuments. Bom Jesus is one of the most famous destinations.
There is a unique feature in one of the roads near Bom-Jesus. On a small section of a downhill road, you can experience antigravity forces. The car is expected to move downwards due to the slant in the road but actually if left in neutral it moves uphill !!!
