Luggage storage in Coimbra?

Hi. I'm going to Lisbon next week and on my way to Porto I'd like to stop in Coimbra. Does anyone know if there's a luggage deposit in one of Coimbra's stations (train and bus)?. Thanks. Andrea

I'd really like to know the answer to this, too. We'll be stopping at Coimbra for a few hours on the way from Lisbon to Porto (by bus). I've read that the railway stations don't have left-luggage areas but maybe the main bus station has?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Visit Piodão

We got to Piodão on a very foggy night. The way there (up and down hill) was getting more and more strange... we were already thinking we're lost... again... when we saw some houses all very close toghether in the middle on the mountain, glowing with the yellowish lights. We got there really late at night, but when we woke in the morning, although it was cloudy, it seemed like a diferent world. Suddenly we were in a valley, surrounded by mountains of which we couldn't see the top... really beautifull!

"Bazofias"

People in Coimbra treat the river with love, even forgiving its occasional excesses. That's why the river is locally called "O bazófias", which means the brag. As a matter of fact flooding is not serious in Coimbra, but the same may not be said about the planes from the city to Figueira da Foz. A small weir is closed almost all year, giving the river a look that risks to make visitors think that its nickname is unfair.

Rowing is big in Coimbra.

Being a traditional university town, Coimbra of course has a very active rowing club and you can see the rowers practise most of the day down in the river.
I personally think this is a sight in itself as it really gives the town this good old fasioned university feel.

Nice park along the Mondego river with some terraces to enjoy a coffee and the river.

How to get there? From Largo da Portagem, leaving the river on your right and the Ponte de Santa Clara onwards.
