Cats all over the place
by porteda
If you're a cat fan, like I am, you'll be thrilled to see many of these felines in Obidos' streets. They seem to be quiet tame and so used to seeing people that their sleep is note even bothered by it.

The sight on the city is simply beautiful. From the walls of the castle that involve the city is possible to have a wonderful perspective. Since the roofs orange to the houses in blue and yellow ton, the narrow streets and the Arab chimneys.

The very heart of the town of Obidos is its Mother Church IGREJA DE SANTA MARIA or Church of St. Mary. 17th Century tiles and paintings by artist Josefa D'Obidos, adorn the walls of this wonderful Renaissance Church. It is also contains the tomb and final resting place of Joao De Noronha (1525) Count of Dijon and his spouse.
Church of St. Mary was the setting for the wedding of King Afonso V and his cousin, Princess Isabel, on August 15, 1441, when they were both still children of Age 10 and nine.

All the village are surrounded by these great walls, its interior is crossed by ancient streets and alleys and all the monuments, singular whitewashed houses and the amazing castle make us feel in the medieval time.
