Hotel Baia

The hotel was built during the 1960’s but has been added to and renovated since. Over the 5 floors of the hotel there are 113 Rooms all with a bath and a shower, central heating and aircon, satellite TV and a safe in the room. A number of rooms have views of the bay and a private balcony.

There is a beautiful indoor heated swimming pool and solarium. The hotels restaurant serves international and traditional Portuguese cuisine. There is a carpark available for guests but its not free.

Hotel Baia on the bay

The Hotel Baia is located right in front of the bay and the beach of Cascais.

The rooms are a bit small but it is worth it for the location.
The cost is about USD 80 per night with breakfast. (But have a full English breakfast in the square at Chequers International Bar)

Unique Quality: I think it has the best location and views of any hotel in Cascais.

It is not the 5 stars Ritz but you just cannot beat the location.

HOTEL BAIA

Located on Avenida Marginal and with a sea-front location on the Estoril Coast, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Cascais Bay at HOTEL BAIA which has 113 rooms.
Amenities include an indoor swimming pool and a great dining area - Baia Grill Restaurant - with wonderful sea views.
Built in the 60's but renovated in 2005.
Hans and I did not stay here , but one of our VT friends did, and she showed me her room which was very nice and spacious. The lounge area was also very nice.
I thought the Baia deserved a page, as it so dominates the sea front.

The heart of town

It seems that the City Hall at the Praça 5 Outubro Square is the place where all things come together at Cascais.

Around the square you find:
-Câmara Municipal de Cascais (City hall)
-O'Neill's Irish Pub
-Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes church
-Hotel Baia
-Ribeira Beach

and the statue of Dom Pedro I in the middle of it all.

BTW There's a letter box at the city hall.
