Boutique Hotel

My friend was taking golf lessons at the estoril golf club, his golf pro booked for him the hotel Inglaterra. And it was really worth to stay at the hotel. The Inglaterra is not a Best Western. It is owned by a Portuguese private familly. It has been fully renovated last year and it is a realy charming place. Very well located in the center of Estoril, close to the Casino, the Congress centers and the Sea. It was really an enjoyable moment. Very good massages for a reasonable price!

Unique Quality: ancient manor house, all renovated in an hotel. Good location in Estoril, nice staff.

Close to the beach

This is an unusual building, probably someone's grand residence at some time. Its close to the train & bus stations, the beaches, the bars & restaurants, the casino, & the exhibition hall. The rooms are comfortable, although the decor in some of the public rooms is a bit odd. The continental breakfast is good, but I still think there's no excuse for 'premier' hotels in Mediterranean countries to serve orange drink/syrup instead of juice. The outdoor pool, patio & loungers are all good. The service was friendly & helpful.

Unique Quality: The unusualness of the building.

How To Get to Lido Estoril Hotel

by Vim_P

Hi can anyone give me advice on getting from Lisbon Airport to Lido Estoril Hotel, Rua Alentejo 12, Lisbon Estoril, Lisbon.

I have been told a taxi cost 50 Euros so was looking for either train or bus which would drop off us nearby there. we are arriving at 8pm.

Perhaps a link to the trains/bus would be helpful.

Many Thanks.

Estoril is a suburb several miles to the west of the city centre.

There are no trains or metro at the airport itself.

The cheapest way to get there will be to take the Airport bus number 91 from outside the arrivals area to the end of its route at Cais do Sodre station in the city centre. The bus runs every 20 minutes, journey takes about half an hour and costs €3. They have plenty of space for luggage inside.

From Cais do Sodre there are local trains every 10/20 minutes to Estoril. These take 30/40 minutes and cost (if I recall correctly) €1.85.

Where Estoril station is in relation to the hotel I know not but I guess they can tell you that!

Hope that helps.

cobsur is ritgh.
Lido Hotel is walking distance from the station (it's behind the Casino) but if you carry heavy luggage a taxi it will cost you less than 5€.

Nevertheless, when I go to airport by taxi, I usually pay something between 25€ or 30€, with luggage. If you decide to take one, it is better to ask first how much will it cost to you and in the end ask for the invoice.

Don't know how the airport bus works, but you can check the train details in here:

be aware that going to the airport you will pay always (any place in the world) less than coming from the airport. Last friends who took the taxi ride from airport to Cascais paid 45euro.
