Three nights here for us.
Friendly and helpful staff to welcome us and a decent sized en-suite room with modern bathroom, do wonder if the designers ever have to use them sometimes though!
A reasonable "American style" buffet breakfast included in the price, for a hotel of this size the breakfast room needs to be larger, lots of hanging aroung waiting for a seat, again staff efficient and friendly here as well.
Location is a major plus, Picoas metro station just outside the door and #91 (many more too) bus to the airport stops just around the corner.
Stay here again? - possibly.
On our return to Lisbon before our flight home we did not want to return to Pensao Portuense even though it had been wonderful. The reason was that we were coming back by car and had to return it to the rental office and I doubted my powers of navigation in the dense little streets of downtown. So instead we just took one night at this very comfortable hotel near Pombal. It was also just 2 minutes walk from the Alamo-Hertz car rental office.so that was most convenient. The hotel was great, comfortable with a brilliant buffet breakfast included. I can't say much about the location for sightseeing since we did not do anything on the last day except walk around the adjacent park a bit and eat at a lousy restaurant. But the hotel itself is right by a metro station and the bus to the airport stops right across the road.So for us it was perfect.
Unique Quality: Comfortable ,good breakfast, convenient for transport.
We didn't have any bookings for our last night in Lisbon so we decided to look around before heading to Cascais. We went in a different hotel but it was expensive so we walked further and found America Diamonds. We paid 60 Euros a night with breakfast for 2pax.Not bad for its location. The metro is just right on the doorstep. The room we had was also clean. The staffs were also very friendly and helpful.I would definitely stay here again when I visit Lisbon.
Directions: Metro: Picoas
We stayed for 6 nights in this hotel in midtown Lisbon that is halfway between the city centre area Baixa and the campus of University of Lisbon. It is located in a business district in a safe and decent location. What is more important is the fact that it is next door to the Picoas metro station which is on the yellow line. Street or air traffic noise is not an issue here, as it is in hotels around Campo Pequeno, which is farther north.
Now, the drawbacks: Bed size is small in double rooms. If you book a double room, make sure you book a room with two beds. Room and bathroom was clean when we moved in, but they were not cleaned up well and every day something was missing, either shampoo was not replaced, hand towels were missing, floors were not wiped etc. After complaining to the hotel staff that there is no shampoo, we were told that we can wither pick up the shampoo in the lobby or we should wait until 23:45 to have them send it to the room because there was no staff. Speaking of reception staff, they were OK but not too willing to accomodate your needs. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was continental style open buffet with enough choices of drinks.
Overall a decent experience for the price with a little lacking service but with a great location.
