    When we returned to Lisbon after our 2 week driving around Portugal we stayed in Hotel Fenix (****) at Praca Marques de Pombal ( the end of September 2004). That was the comfort and luxury that we felt we needed after being on the road and sleeping in some strange pensions. I had booked it before hand via Internet and the room for double cost 105 Euro per night. That was the most expensive accommodation we had while in Portugal but it was worth every cent! The room was small but very comfortable, with airconditioning (which was still needed in the end of September as the temperature was 32 C in Lisbon), minibar , satellite TV and safe. We had a beautiful view to the Parque Eduardo VII and also saw some of the rotunda (that is how Pr Do Marques de Pombal is called too). The buffet brekfast was excellent to Portuguese standard. We finally got eggs for breakfast! Hadn't had them since we had left Lisbon and cooked them for ourselves at Aparthotel VIP Eden (see the tip). There was also English breakfast with all the baked beans, sausages etc. The staff of the hotel was excellent and very helpful in every matter.

    I was really pleased to stay at this hotel, the accommodations and the staff were great. This was my second stay at this hotel. It was very easy to make new aquintances like the bar tender who is a painter he is a very interesting fellow. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Lisbon.

    I liked everything about the hotel the accommodations, the staff and the restaurant.

    What can I say?It was perfect for me.The room we had was very clean.The interior color makes you feel relax.It's also spacious.Locationwise,well,its just PERFECT!You have the metros,busses and tour busses in and out of Lisbon.I would highly recommend this hotel.

    it was a good hotel, clean, cheap, in the center, the metro was a few neters away, located on the square, the staff was o.k.

    The hotel has all the standard facilities for 4* hotel.

    • I recommend hotel Fenix for couples an bussinesmen. The hotel is near all places worth to visit in Lisbon. One thing I don't like it; you can't drink coffe in hotel bar in the morning !
