Look Up & Look Down
by mazzap
When walking around, don't forget to look up........& down too, but watch where you're going of course!
The beautiful cobbled designs all over the streets & squares of Lisbon & surrounding towns really are eyecatching. Sadly, many of the footpaths that are made in this style are falling into disrepair. I should imagine it's an ongoing full-time job keeping them up to standard though.
And of course, don't forget to look up & admire the ornate balconies and architecture around this city!
Elevador de Santa Justa

This outstanding structure stands in the middle of downtown Lisbon and will take you on a very short ride to the sky. From the top you have a good lookout point for photography of the rooftops of Lisbon (it also saves you walking up hill from the downtown area to the upper area where you can find the Cervejaria Brewery ^O^
What really caught my fancy was the fact that this was originally powered by STEAM...could just imagine the racket that caused downtown and the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) would be on your back to "clean up your act".... http://www.golisbon.com/sight-seeing/santa-justa.html
Oceanário IV

Besides the central tank, there are four other areas where an equal number of costal habitats have been created, comprising the Artic, the Pacific, the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans. In the habitat of the penguins it was very cold, seemed that I was in the North Pole. Nice creatures and great divers. It was so nice watching them diving.
Santo António Tradition
by dimilag
The Santo António tradition include a game, which should be played on the eve of the day of the saint. It goes like this: fill a small bowl with water and write the names of those you would like (or you think) to be your perfect partner. Roll up the papers, put them in the bowl with the water and place it under your bed. The next day, the paper that has opened up the most will reveal the name of your perfect partner! You don't believe it?... Well, there is no harm in trying, is there?
Something for windy nights

Even if the locals warned me,I didn´t belive how chilly it might be at summer.I really had not enough long sleeved shirts. My husband did not even take his jeans with him, because at hollidays in Italy and Spain he had never used them.No he was missing his jeans, even if he hardly ever feels cold.
