Hi everyone!!
I’m heading Lisbon next week for business and I’ll take 4 day off.
I’m planning to take 2 day-trips in the Lisbon Region.. any suggestions?
In terms of the other 2 days that I’ll spend in Lisbon… what are the must see places???

Regarding day trips: Sintra, Queluz (maybe on the way back or before, it's the same train line), Evora, Obidos...
Regardin Lisboa itself, plenty of tips to choose frpm, have a look a mypage or others' pages
Sintra is amazing, two beautiful structures plus an awesome Moorish castle, only about an hour train ride north of Lisboa.
Cascais is still nice even if the weather isn't hot enough, try heading to Barrio Alto if your after a vibrant nightlife, it has everything.
If you have a car try driving down to the Alentejo region, especially along the coast, and visiting the great towns, most of which have castles.

Visit Belem Monastary. I only got to see the exterior b/c I arrived too late to see the interior.
As you can see by the picture, the exterior is quite impressive. Meeting up with one of mom's cousins, whom I'd never met before and experiencing warm generosity.
Belém - visit the monstary, visit Torre de Belém.
Walk around Alfama, discover Bairro Alta and Estrela.
Take an électrico up to Alfama. To watch the sunset from Castelo.

TORRE DE BELÉM
is a must-see, even if it is probably the most photographed monument in Portugal. This tower used to locate out in mid-stream of river Tagus when Vasco da Gama left to India and other sailors of the Age of Discoveries left to other destinations to be explored...
you will hear music on the street very often in Lisbon, in the evening I saw people dancing several times
it was nice to sit at the warm staircaise and observe the dancing party
you can find the same boy with the dog on the pictures of other VT members, I liked him very much as well as his dog, that likes money :o)
Lisboetas (inhabitants of Lisbon) are crazy about football and support either of the two major clubs, Sport Lisboa e Benfica (website: www.slbenfica.pt), and Sporting Clube de Portugal. Both are strong first-division contenders. Benfica play at the great Estádio da Luz (Stadium of Light called as the Cathedral by the supporters of Benfica ), where it will be the final of the Euro 2004 and others games of the Euro2004. Sporting play at the Estádio Alvalade XXI, just north of the Campo Grande (website: www.scp.pt). There are others clubs in Lisbon like Belenenses and Alverca but not so important.
