is a modern hotel located in central Lisbon, less than one block from busy Avenida da Liberdade, 100 meters from the green oasis of Botanical Gardens. The 106 coditioned guestrooms are confortable.
The service is promt and eficient. The staf is OK

Suggestions for Lisbon Hotels Close to Public Transportation
My wife and I are going on a cruise from US to Lisbon, Portugal. We will be staying in Lisbon from May 6 through May 9. Would anyone have any suggestions for nice (4 star), but not extremely expensive hotels in central Lisbon that are close to public transportation (buses, subways, etc) and is relatively safe for tourists.
We would like to sight-see from a central location with good transportation. I know that we will go to Belem and possibly a trip to Sintra. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

There are nice hotels all over town and near the metro stations.
You can try the ones near the Parque das Nações.
Check the Lisbon metro map and make your choice.
In Lisbon, go to the castle, for the views, walk the "baixa" wich is our downtown, ride tram number 28 (beware the pickpockets, eat "pasteis de Belém" in Belém, see the "Jerónimos", try portuguese food in one restaurant where the locals go, and enjoy your stay. Ah, before arriving learn some history for the people that discovered the World. Did you know that we discovered America before Colombo? Did you know that we kept it secret because what was important back then was India and not America? Clombo probably was working for Portugal, not Spain as a secret agent, keeping the spaniards busy on the wrong way to India. Fascinating is`n`it? So is Portugal and Lisboa

Thanks for the reply. Your suggestions sound wonderful. I am trying to locate a hotel which is close to metro transportation should my wife and I decide not to take the taxis everywhere. I appreciate your help. We look forward to our visit
to Lisbon.
