hostels in lisbon
by rkearns about yes hostel and lisbon lounge hostel
if you're open to staying in a hostel, you and your boyfriend could get your own room. this place where i stayed with my bf at the time is really awesome.

it's clean, modern, artsy, professional, spacious, the staff is really helpful, and it's in a great location. it's one of the top three hostels i've stayed.
the other one i liked is this one:

not as cool, but still along the same vein. they even have dinners once a week where everyone eats together. it's very communal.
otherwise, maybe there is something on craigslist for apt. sublets. i'm sure a simple google search could get you to some apt. websites. hope that helps.

Maybe not the best hostel where I've stayd, but it's cheap and there is nothing really wrong. The staff is friendly. If you're looking for a cheap stay in Lisbon, Lazy Crow & Co is a good option. Check out my tip on Lisbon Lounge Hostel, too.
The prices for the season of 2006 person/day:
Dorm Bed 17€
Double Room 44€
Twin Room 44€
Check-ins begin at 14.

Lisbon Lounge Hostel & 25th April
by SANDE74
Hi!
I am a woman travelling alone and would like check some issues from those of u who know Lisbon better. (It's my 1st trip to Portugal.) I'll arrive by plane late on Sunday 24th April -> anyone who knows Lisbon Lounge Hostel (Rua de Sao Paulo)? Is it easy find from train station and is it ok for overniting. I'll leave to Sintra on Monday 25th April, which leads to my 2nd question: it is a bank holiday in Portugal -> will that affect trendemously train/bus timetables etc?

About the 25th April, no problems with buses or trains. for trains see www.cp.pt
The train to Sintra leaves Entrecampos station.
About the hostel, if you are comig day light no problem, get aerobus to a metro station, and then go to Cais do Sodre station, it will be some minutes walking to R. São Paulo.
metro site: http://www.metrolisboa.pt/index_uk.htm
If you're arrive at night be more carefull metro stops at 1 am and Cais do Sodre it is not a very good zone, so walk there direct...
