Only 1 night spent there but we had no problems whatsoever. The concierge was exceptional, the facilties top class. It took between 5 and 10 minutes by taxi to reach the centre at a cost of only a few euros and there was a subway close by.
Conveniently placed for the airport and if you visit for a football match as we did it was about halfway between the Estadio de Luz (Benfica's ground) and that of Sporting Lisbon.
The room is really nice - has a balcony which would be great during the summer. - atho not much of a view. The bed - awesome - Marriott is upgrading their beds across the world - it is super heavenly - can fight with westin heavenly bed...i swear by that bed.
And the decor - typical of many Marriotts - bright yellow. Internet connection is available at a price - all day - 24 hours . - i think it cost around 18 euro for the day.
we also had their buffet breakfast - cost 16 euro each - the spread was interesting - it even had an asian noodle - much to my husband's delight.
i enjoyed the roast pork loin with sauerkraut.... german dish?? very international fare.
and their mini pastry is really best - egg custard tart or even the almond tart - sumptuous.
Though I was on business time (so would rather not justify the rates), maybe you may be interested what to expect. Hotel is obviously nice and cosy, staff friendly. Location close to the airport - but there is not much in wakling distance (zoo only) and the environment is a bit noisy if you are in the front facing the the wide street (2x3 lanes).
As you would expect from a member of the Marriott chain, this hotel is a very good place to stay for a business trip. It has plenty of conference rooms, a business centre, wireless internet access in the public areas and wired access in the rooms and a decent restaurant.
The fact that it is just a 10 minute drive from the airport is an advantage because of quick and easy access. But it is also a disadvantage, because the hotel is right under the flight path.
There are two metro stations in walking distance:
- Cidade Universitaria (Yellow Line) - Jardim Zoologico (Blue Line)
