If you looked closer to the building in front of us, then the view was a little bit less idyllic with some worn out houses that needed desperate a repair.
In front of the hotel was this new Martim Moniz square with the nice fountains.
Excellent for an evening watching the full moon over the castle that was looking over the place.
The hotel itself was clean and breakfast was nice. We never tried dinner.
One day we went up all to the highest store where you could have a beautiful view from the terras.
The staff was friendly.
The hotel was a regular tourist hotel, didn’t had much personal touch but it was ok.
It was about 10 minutes walking from where the bus coming from the airport dropped us.
The neighbourhood we had to walk through looked more like little Africa then Portugal.
Everywhere people were trying to sell things, going from watches, to lottery tickets and even to drugs.
First I didn’t felt like this was the right neighbourhood, but I got accustomed quickly and disregarded the call for attentions of the street vendors.
The roof teras was nice and the location in front of the Moritz place was excellent.
It probably will look nicer now as there were restauration works going on when we stayed there.
It has many room facilities and is also accesable for disabled persons, for which I grant them one level higher.
