Very Good Business Class Hotel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 11, 2013

The Novotel was the last of my Portugal hotels that I stayed. Regretfully it was the one that I had the most pleasant stay in. I wished I had stayed here longer. Actually my only two complaints about this hotel is that the exterior is ugly and the location is not great. I picked it because it was reasonably close to the airport and I had an early flight. It is a ten minute walk to the nearest metro station. With the possible exception of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, there are no major attractions nearby. Still for 75 Euros I thought it was great value.

Unique Quality: The rooms by European standards are quite large. They are also very clean. The restaurant has an all you can stuff into yourself buffet which was very good. There is a very nice lounge bar just off the lobby.

Nice Hotel but.....

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)

We stayed at the Novotel as we'd stayed in other branches of this chain before and always enjoyeed it.

The hotel was clean, situated 5 mins walk from a meto station, had polite staff, free internet in the lobby. The room we got was not as big as other Novotel rooms that we had stayed in before, but it was still fine.

The biggest dissappointment we had was the food in the hotel. One evening we were tired and decided to eat at the hotel restaurant and were very disappointed.. the food was terrible. It felt like it had been cooked many hours before, and did not taste particularly good! Everywhere else we ate in Lisbon, we had some fantastic meals!

Unique Quality: Convienent & clean but don't eat here!
