| | | | |
If you are flying in/out from Lisbon, on your way to Algarve, or up north to Douro this is an excellent choice. It is close to the airport, have parking available for your rental car, and it is very easy to find as it is next to 2nd circular. So is the airport by the way. They serve english breakfast. We stayed there the whole family, when arriving late at night, before driving to Algarve the next day. We also stayed there when seeing Lisbon and Sintra, as the parking is good. It is also close to the underground (Campo Grande), and taxi from city centre to hotel is not to bad.
The rooms are big, the breakfast is excellent, so is the service. We could easily fit a family of five into one superior room. Theme: HotelComparison: less expensive than average

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand the staff were most helpful and friendly, on the other hand they never replied to an e-mail I sent about a week prior to arrival and at the time of writing I still haven't received anything, the e-mail address was the one they advertise everywhere btw so it should be correct. The e-mail was regarding airport transfer and what a taxi should cost from the airport, and of course just because nobody replied I ended up paying too much for the taxi, despite my serious attempts to speak Portuguese to the driver. The hotel is not located in the city centre but in an area in northern Lisbon called Campo grande. There is an underground station very close to the hotel and the journey to the city centre takes 10-15 minutes so the location was never really an issue. It's only a 4-5 minutes ride to the airport and the hotel offers an airport shuttle in the morning.
I was upgraded to a business class room because of my gold card which was actually more of a a mini suite with a bedroom, a "middle room" with what I guess could be described as a dining table, a wardrobe, and a desk. Also a hallway and rather spacious bathroom. It was on the 9th floor with a rather decent view of Western Lisbon. On the ground floor there is a nice lobby in marble where there is also a gift shop, a jewellery shop, and a sitting area. There is also a restaurant and a bar where they have live music some days of the week. In the basement there is a fitness centre although I never visited it. The hotel is not brand new (built in the beginning of the 90's) but it's well-maintained, clean and the facilities are OK.
