Excellent option in the city centre

This is a nice, well run guesthouse that is well located on a small back street that runs off from Avenida da Liberdade, about 150m north of Restauradores Square which has a metro station and the Elevador de Gloria. It's also close to a lot of restaurants that are located along the pedestrian Rue das Portas de Santo Antao and the small bars in Bairro Alto.

My single room was a good size - long but narrow and a little dark as you can see by the photos but it had a small TV, phone, a/c, large wardrobe, desk, chair, smallish double bed with small pillows that were more like cushions. The bathroom was very small with a half-size bath which you just stood in to have a shower and some nice touches like a hairdryer and towel rail warmer. The room was adequate and all I needed. Breakfast is served in a fairly small area and consists of some nice large wholemeal rolls, biscuits, cakes, coffee from a machine, fruit juices, cold meats, cereals and cheese, yoghurts and jams. There's an internet PC (which I didn't use) and a small chair area with flat screen TV on the way to the breakfast room. I didn't really talk to the staff much as I only collected/returned my key but they were courteous enough.

All-in-all, it was a good option and I enjoyed my time here. I paid €50/night.
