I stayed in hotel Roma while waiting for a connecting flight to Brazil and i haven´t really got any complaints or anything particulary great to say about the place.
It offerd a nights accomodation and they kept their promises so they did their job.
The place is a bit away from the center though and while i would say that the place is very fine for a short layover like i had i would not recommend it for a longer tourist stay in Lisbon as it is a bit away from it all.
Unique Quality: Close to the airport.
Staying on the 8th floor and with 263 rooms and 1 elevator better take something to eat and drink with you while waiting. Next to the hotel is a railway, so if you cannot sleep you can count them. More?? Yes, since a lot of tourist groups are staying in the hotel take your time in the queue for the breakfast buffet.
I have stayed here many times over the years. The rooms are small, but serve the purpose. The staff is friendly, and you can't beat the location for the price. I recommend Roma for everyone but those with many children and tourists looking for posh accommodations.
Unique Quality: Excellent location. Close to Bairro Alto, Rossio, etc. Within walking distance of many sites and public transport.
I found this hotel to be surprisingly plush. We had a nice balcony and a huge bathroom--not necessities, but still nice.
We stayed at Hotel Roma during our weekend in Lisbon. The rooms were nice and the hotel in general looked good. I liked it. I'm not sure how much it cost, because all our activities, as well as the stay at the hotel, were included in the 120 Euros that we paid to be in the tour.
Unique Quality: There is a pool, but I didn't use it. One of the girls in the group did, and said that it's just like a kiddie pool, not really something you can swim in. There was a buffet for breakfast.
