What is the best way to arrange a taxi from a hotel to the Lisbon airport before 5:00 in the morning?
call one with help of your hotel
oh come on....
:)
Your hotel staff should be able to help you. Arrange it the day before you plan to leave.
Enjoy your trip.
Perhaps you think that asking the hotel to order one for you means that you will be ripped-off? Unlikely, in my opinion.
So ask the hotel the day before you leave to book a taxi for you. Don't leave it until last thing in the evening to ask them: ask them after breakfast, then you can check in the evening that it has been sorted out.
Sometimes hotels who does this will include the taxi fare on your bill, so check what your hotel's policy is about this.
you'd do just fine by simply catching one on the very day/morning of your departure
Lisbon taxis run all day/all night long
tell the driver 'para aeroporto faz favor' or 'aeroporto' once you get in the cab
We ended up in a souvenir shop in Alfama at the same time as a big tour group. I'm not sure if they paid specially to sample this port or if the shop was giving it out for free but either way we decided to join in
Lisbon's eastern side was completely rebuilt for the World Fair in 1998. Today it is the site of the Oceanarium which is Europe's largest aquarium, as well as some eye-catching contemporary architecture.
These little pieces of heaven can be found in every Pasteleria and coffee shop in Lisbon and are reason enough to visit the city! The little custard based pastries are not unlike crème brulee but are encased in a flaky pastry and are about 100 times better. Best place to try them is in Belem but there are other good spots to try them in the centre. Sao Nicolau Pasteleria is a good spot on Rua Augusta. Brought back memories of Macau where they are called Portuguese Egg Tarts and was the first place I tried them.
I took this picture in Chiado in front of the Brasileiro cafe, a local institution. This beautiful woman was a reporter apparently doing some kind of newsworthy story from this location, but I have no idea what she was talking about since I don't speak Portuguese.
This area is one of the trendier and more fashionable parts of Lisbon and is full of great cafes and stores. You'll see plenty of young, hip locals hanging out just socializing and window shopping.
