The rooms of the VIP Berna are nice, but there are much nicer hotels with in a 2-3 block radius if you're willing to pay a bit more.

central hotel (Entrecampos)
The Hotel VIP Berna its 3 star hotel composed of 240 modern rooms, from which 2 are suites. The decoration in all rooms is comfortable and functional, for business and leisure stays.
The hotel has seven well-equipped meeting rooms with the capacity for 25 to 150 people, where it is possible to organize congresses, conventions, meetings and banquets. It as also a private parking area.
The price for double or single room is around 150 euros night.
Unique Quality: Near airport, near to Entrecampos metro and train stacion, central located.
The rooms all completely renovated in 2001, equipped with Air conditioning,private safety box ,double glass windows, Cable and satellite tv also Pay TV, direct dialling telephone with voice mail and internet access, private bathroom equipped with bathtub and shower and also with hair dryer.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of Portuguese food, so you will be able to experience the interesting and different tastes of traditional cuisine of this country.

Cheap and Modern
Very reasonable rates for the single traveller. depending on time of year, 39 euro in December including as much hot breakfast as you could want.
Unique Quality: Very close to Metro (Campo pequno) Also beside the railway to Sintra.

Nice Budget Hotel
Staff were mixed, some very friendly some not. Service was quite good. Someone wrote this hotel did not have towls and only 5 channels on the TV, I found this not to be the case at all. We had the normal hotel channels and our towels were changed daily.
For the price, this is a nice and VERY big hotel. The rooms size seemed normal for a double. However, they done the usual hotel thing of pushing together 2 single beds and calling it a double bed. They was also no mini bar in the room, which is annoying as i like to keep a cold bottle of water there.
Rooms were clean although did show some signs of wear. I would not have a problem staying here again. Situation is OK as well is you prefer a bit a distance for the noisy areas.
Unique Quality: Free hotel parking even though there is ample parking outside the hotel.
This hotel is ideal for large group bookings.
Good prices for those on a budget.

The rooms are equipped with TV, AC and private bathroom.
Unique Quality: Whenever I go to Lisbon on a business trip, I stay in this hotel. It's great because it's in the city center and it has a garage for parking.

Unique Quality: Good, clean en-suite rooms, 24 hour reception, quite central location. We paid EUR49 per night for a double room (in November; prices may go up during high season). Breakfast not included in the price, but available for EUR5.50.

Nice Small hotel
A lovely nice hotel, located not far from the center. Nice and comfortable rooms although a bit small and a good service.
Metro Station is Campo Pequeno, and its only 3 min' walk from the station.
From the Airport you can take a taxi which is really very cheap in Lisbon, and then its only 12 min' drive from the airport.
Or Bus No. 91.
