The hotel opened its doors in 1981 and is located just down from the National Palace.
Listed as a 4 star, their rooms have their own bathrooms with hairdryers. All rooms have a safe, TV, mini-bar and airconditioning. The hotel also has a restaurant with a lovely view out to the hills.
It is a lovely hotel in the centre of the old town. The location couldn't be better.
We had a mini suite for the same price as a regular hotel room. We probably just got lucky. Our little sitting room had a beautiful panoramic of the Serra de Sintra. It was absolutely breathtaking.
It may have an unappealing 70's style appearance but this hotel has large, well laid out air conditioned bedrooms; very comfortable beds; pleasant public rooms and there is plenty of choice at breakfast. The rooms at the front have a close up view of National Palace, this is nice but there can be a bit of noise at night so, if you can, get one of the quieter rooms at the back which overlook the valley and the Quinta da Regaleira.
The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring the town and the surrounding sights.
