Plenty of options

This is a picture of one of the guard towers located on the aqueduct, but hey, it's a roof over your head!
Seriously, here are some options if you decide to stay in Tomar:
Residencial Luz is located on Serpa Pinto 144 and costs about 25-40 Euros for a double with a bathroom.
Residencial Uniao is also on Serpa Pinto at number 94 and costs about 35-50 Euros for the same accommodations.
For bigger spenders, try Hotel dos Templarios at Largo Candido dos Reis 1. This place has a health club, a swimming pool, all the comforts you'd expect of a nice hotel and best of all, an email address at hoteltemplarios@mail.telepac.pt

You have the Hotel dos Templarios, www.hoteldostemplarios.pt. which is an institution there, a 4 star but nice and comfortable.
Tomar is a beautiful region. Be sure to visit Castelo de Bode, Constancia ( a small lovely village), Fatima, Caldas da Rainha, Alcobaça, Nazaré, Obidos ( a must) , Leiria, Ponte de Sor.
These are all easy places to drive from there.
Enjoy it!
