Seaside budget hotel
We've stayed at this nice 2* hotel at Costa da Caparica for one night in February 2008. As it's pretty much of a budget hotel the rooms' facilities are rather simple and, partially, worn out. I would not have minded the bathroom to be a bit cleaner... but it was ok (escpecially in consideration of the price). Praia do Sol is located just at the town's centre, within easy walking distance to one of Portugal's largest beaches. The beach is actually 30km long and in Summer you will meet lots of locals here as it's one of the most popular weekend domiciles of the people of Lisbon. Our window pointed towards a busy shopping street and there also are plenty of restaurants and bars in close vicinity. But the room's windows were double glazed and so at night it was sufficiently quiet. All rooms are en suite and equipped with phone, TV, air condition and hair dryer.
Next to the reception there is a guest lounge with a small bar, (chargeable) internet access and a billiard-table. The staff was very friendly; unfortunately only few people spoke English.
Breakfast buffet was served at the guest lounge and it was tasty and filling.
Unique Quality: Costa da Caparica is located only 15km South of Lisbon which makes it an ideal starting point for a day trip.
