Travel Tips for Sesimbra

rugged cliffs

by arasnosliw

The rugged cliffs bordering Sesimbra to the east are part of the Serra da Arrábida (Arrabida mountains). From this mountain range are magnificent views of the Costa Azul. The range also is host to a beautiful park (Parque Natural da Arrábida) for all the nature lovers like me out there.

freezing water

by arasnosliw

Even amidst the rain storm, a few brave souls decided to stick around the newly deserted beach to which they had all to themselves. I can't imagine wanting to swim in the cold rain, but these young kids had the guts to.

Lagosteiros Beach

by JPGoncalves

Near Espichel Cape, inside the Arrabida Natural Park there is a very small bay with a rocky beach just acessible by jeep, amazing sunset and the place to be if you want a beach just for yourself, even in the summer.

A paradise on Portugal

by shortie74

"Best beaches, great fish!"

Here is a piece of land with the bluest sea in the whole country, which one can be calm (during almost every summer) or a bit wild (twice a year). If you want to feel the waves in the summer, try some good other beaches nearby. Don´t forget to try their barbeque sardines, or their fried cuttlefish; both are MARVELLOUS! However, it's better to eat it at dinner, and in preference, early in the evening, because it's so good you'll want to eat that (or any other great recipes) and you'll have to WALK to digest better, for eating so much!;)

"Cabo(Cape) Espichel"

windy, creepy, but also... LOVELY! With a hidden treasure... -dinossaur footprints...- and where you can see the ocean beating on the rocks watch out for the altitude... or the soil itself! I could tell something more about it, but I'm SCARED of heights...

"Castle"

An old monument, survived to numerous battles, and now it has several visits, specially during the summer. "Zimbramel" (Annual honey festivities and sales) is also made there, every August. It has sea and mountains view

"Covering UP" the incriminating evidence

by Martin_S.

Yes as you can see "guilty as charged"...
When we traveled south from Lisbon, before we met up with Antonio, we had only ONE car which seats 5....yet we were 6...
What to do...well 4 of us just jumped in the back seat and then tried to "cover the incriminating evidence", yes we covered up Sandra. Every time we say Mr. Policeman, we would duck and cover up, must have worked since we arrived without a ticket or being carted off to jail. On the other hand the police may have been laughing as hard as we were.....
