Visit Caminha

by ncfg

About 17 minutes ride by train you can reach Caminha.
Once a strong riverport, the ancient fortress town of Caminha is almost surrounded by water. Proudly situated opposite Spain at the mouth of the enchanting River Minho, it has been inhabited since Celtic and Roman times. Once there you can enjoy THE Caminha's Gothic parish church, Igreja Matriz and in the main square there are 15th-century battlemented buildings.
From Caminha you can take a ride in ferryboat just for 1,20 euros (two way ticket) to the nearby village Camposancos in Galicia - Spain, there aren’t much to see but you can enjoy great beaches there.

Histrical little port town.

by cachaseiro

Viana Do Castelo used to be one of the most important towns of Portugal back in the old days when Brazil was a portugese colony.
The trade to and from Brazil very much went through Viana Do Castelo and the city prosperd.
When Brazil broke away from Portugal and french pirates started to plunder the ships the town lost importance and is today fairly small.

It´s a very pretty town though and a favorite holiday spots for the portugese and during holidays and weekends, the town is packed.

I've been near Viana do Castelo.
To be more specific, in Seixas, Caminha, Valença, Paredes de Coura, Vilar de Mouros, etc...
If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask

Meanwhile here's a very good restaurant to go:
