Amidst the mountains
Quality Inn Casa da Campeã is a nice 3 star hotel situated less than 10km from Vila Real. It is situated on a valley, between two mountains – Marão and Alvão – making it a perfect base to explore the region: both the city Vila Real and also the landscape surrounding it.
The hotel has all that is required to a 3 star hotel (spacious room and bathroom, central heating and TV), and room was always clean. Service is good and staff helpful. The hotel restaurant is also very good and there is also a bar open all day long. There is a nice outdoor swimming pool but we didn’t use as weather was getting cooler (October 2004).
Since there is nothing surrounding the hotel – it is isolated amidst the mountains – just a new neighborhood of houses but no services or shops, I would only recommend this hotel for those traveling by car.
However, if you are traveling by car and enjoy the mountains quietness and fresh air, I’d highly recommend staying there.
