Older, but still classy
It definately showed that it was an older hotel, but you could see upgrades that were made. Our room was actually one of the most spacious we had. The location was in Central Porto, so it was in walking distance to a lot of things, though it would be a longer walk to the river, it was *almost* flat for Portugal. It has a bar on the 17th floor which provides amazing views over the city at night, and the restaurant food was very good.

Great location, good service
We stayed 6 nights at Hotel Dom Henrique in March 06. We booked it online from the hotel website and got a double room with breakfast for 58 euros per night.
Our room was a bit small but it was spotless clean and it had a desk and chair which was useful for one of us who had to work and study during the stay.
There are two floors with non-smoking rooms.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing; all fruit jams on offer were tasteless. Bread was not that special either but coffee was strong :)
Unique Quality: The hotel has a bar at the 17th floor, with beautiful views all over the city.
The location of this hotel was perfect. Near the hotel there are plenty of non-tourist restaurants that seem to cater mostly for office workers. There are many options for public transport if you want to go further away (Casa da Música, Pedralbes etc) while the city centre is just a pleasant walk away. The bus from the Airport (Aerobus) stops right in front of this hotel.
