Hotel Tuela Porto

I saw already tips about this hotel. It is located in the area of Boavista, near Casa da Música. It's a bit far from the historic center but in a very central location, served by the metro.

It belongs to the Hoteís Fenix chain. It's southern wing has cheaper rooms. A single costs around 41 euros (Summer 2009).

Unique Quality: The single rooms are not large, but usually have very large balconies.
Adding that there is an abundant buffet breakfast included, the price is really good value for money.
Beware of the large balcony. It's nice if the weather is sunny, but it's a single large balcony common to all the rooms of the top floor. Given that, it's always advisable to lock the balcony door of your room when you're out. Never knows which kind of guests you may have in the neighboring rooms.

Nice and neat hotel in Boavista district

Tuela Hotel is a good choice for such a money (even about 25 euros/person). The staff was very kind and the room was clean and comfortable. Views from the hotel windows are not sensational or even interesting but the location is quiet good due to the vicinity of shops (the commercial center just behind the corner) and restaurants which are very popular among local residents. The hotel is not far away from metro station and from Douro river. The Dom Luis I Bridge, the Catherdral, and other monuments are also attainable even on foot.

Good choice

Porto, for me, is a badly known town, because, staying only 2 hours distant from my home, I generally don't stay there. And, not staying there, time is usually short. The only hotel I used in Porto was this one.

It had the advantage of, being a *** hotel, its situation a little far from the center reflected in the good price. And, as I was going to the north, It freed me from the traffic congestion in the center. Good decision, and good stay.

Cheap and cheerful

This hotel is amazingly cheap but is still of a business standard. I think my company pays 40 euros a night which I can't believe. It is situated in the new city centre near the Rotunda da Boavista. Next door is the Bom Successo shopping centre that sells just about everything you could possibly want. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance.

Unique Quality: Very cheap but of an international business standard.
