Considering the Residencial Palanca in Porto?

Funicular dos Guindais by antistar
Again, like the trams, this funicular functions as much as a tourist attraction as anything else. It crawls up the side of the old medieval wall from the base of the Dom Luis I bridge, to the Rua Augusto Rosa at the top of the hill. It's a steep walk back from the river to the modern city centre, so if you have a hotel in the area north of the Cathedral you will find this piece of transport a godsend.
