    Hotel on a cliff, next to Funchal. Some rooms have a view on the ocean, some have a view on the centre of Funchal.

    There are a little more then 200 comfortable rooms and (junior) suites.

    Il Gallo D' Oro (Very good restaurant - tie & jacket are required)
    The Blue Lagoon (pool restaurant with BBQ)

    It's a very quiet, comfortable hotel, but rather expensive for eating there. (35 Euro for a dinner in buffet, excluding drinks.) The service is impeccable. People are friendly, efficient, fast. All hotel staff that is in contact with the public speaks English and some of them speak a little French and German (and Portuguese, off course)
